Empowerment Hour
Thank you for your interest in supporting Empowerment Hour. Presenters and meal donors play a vital role in furthering the mission of SafeHomes to transform victims of domestic violence into survivors.
Become a Presenter
By volunteering your time as a presenter, you will equip survivors with practical skills and knowledge that support long-term independence and success. Whether teaching financial literacy, career development, wellness, parenting, or other life skills, your expertise helps empower participants as they build confident, self-sufficient futures.
Empowerment Hour meets on Monday evenings from 6:00–7:00 PM. Presenters should be available from 5:45–7:15 PM to allow time for setup and connection with participants.
Donate a Meal
Providing a meal ensures survivors can focus fully on learning and personal growth. A warm, nourishing dinner creates comfort, community, and care during each session.
Meal Guidelines
- Serve approximately 20 individuals
- No pork, nuts, or shellfish
- Drop-off between 5:30–5:45 PM
Volunteer Qualifications
To ensure the safety and well-being of all participants, volunteers must meet the following requirements:
- If you are a survivor of domestic violence, you must be at least two years removed from the abusive relationship.
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must understand and strictly uphold all confidentiality policies
- Must have an acceptable public record and positive community reputation
- Must be available on Monday evenings
